INfant Care Nanny
An Infant Care Nanny is a highly-trained care professional that is certified in Newborn Care. Their primary objective is to ensure a smooth transition following the birth of a child by establishing a beneficial routine for the parents and baby.
Infant care nannies understand the unique challenges that new parents face, and focus on providing a safe and stimulating environment for infants, while maintaining the preparation, sanitation and cleanliness of all care areas. They are skilled in sleep training; establishing a feeding schedule; lactation consulting; and proper bathing, dressing, and swaddling techniques.
Nanny or Governess
A Nanny (or Governess) is a highly-trained child care professional that caters to your family and children’s domestic needs. For a nanny, no two days are ever the same, because their job description is not limited to the traditional definition of child care. A proper nanny helps uphold the family’s moral standard and conduct, guides children through developmental stages to foster healthy growth, and acts as one of the first role models in a child’s life.
Our nannies practice efficiency, hard work, and appreciation. Their skills are far and wide, and may include sharing foreign languages, musical talents, cooking or preparing nutritional meals, and assisting in maintaining household organization. Nannies and governesses may also acquire an understanding of philosophical approaches to childhood education, including: The Reggio Emilia Approach, The Maria Montessori Method, or Waldorf Educational Practices.
Special Care Nanny
A Special Needs Nanny is a highly-trained care professional that works specifically with children or household members with special needs or unique care requirements. They are able to assist with At-Home Therapy, Behavioral Exercise Practices, and the administering of medications while fostering growth and continued development. Many special needs nannies maintain an active Certified Nursing Assistant License, attend regular practice workshops and seminars.
Our special needs nannies adhere to the similar standards of a Nanny or Governess, while providing an extra emphasis on sensitivity, parental collaboration, and approach to care philosophies. Special needs nannies can work with individuals with one or more of the following diagnoses, disorders, or conditions, including but not limited to: Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Asperger Syndrome, Autism, Severe Autism, and individuals diagnosed with Developmental Delays. Most Special Needs Nannies will have experience with Applied Behavior Analysis, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy. Their skills also include preparing nutritional meals, assisting with self-care and hygiene, and assisting with transportation to appointments, school, or events.
